Volunteer Land Tending

Thank you for your interest in caring for the land now known as Tryon Creek State Natural Area.  Join Friends of Tryon Creek to improve forest health by removing ivy growing up trees or caring for newly planted trees near the creek.

Volunteer tasks include hiking and the use of small tools. Best suited for adults or youth ages 10 and older accompanied by an adult. Gloves, tools, supervision, and directions will be provided.   Please come prepared to hike and work off-trail in uneven and wet terrain, layered clothing, long pants, and sturdy shoes are all a good idea.

Space is limited, sign up today. Youth under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult, those between the age of 16-17 need a parent-signed waiver.
