LOVE THE LAND: Welcoming Fall Equinox

At the heart of "Love the Land" is a commitment to the health of our lands, waters, and peoples. We aim to create a space where the community can come together to learn and exchange experiences. It is the common thread weaving us all into a vibrant tapestry of change.

In this series, we will welcome Fall Equinox for a day of healing, learning, and uplifting each other as a community. Weina Dinata, from Poppy & Finch will share her healing journey and parallel stories between life and nature on how she became a land and habitat steward through her mini-habitat living botanical arts. Followed by her planting service and a guided hike. Space is limited, please RSVP here.

Event Schedule:
2-3pm Presentation: Weina’s Journey and Q&A

3:30-4pm Planting service $15-45 (part of proceeds will go to Friends of Tryon Creek.)**

4-5pm Guided hike with Friends Restoration Coordinator, Nanda Ramos. (While your mini-habitat centerpiece is being created)

5-5.30pm Pick up your one-of-a-kind mini-habitat centerpiece

** Planting Service Details:

  • Bring your own container (preferably with drainage holes) or purchase from my collection (price varies)⁠

  • I’ll help you choose the plants for the condition of your outdoor space (plants are provided by Bosky Dell Natives)

  • Purchase plant ($6) & pay fee (varies based on container size from $15 to $45). Fee includes consultation, design, supplies/materials including plants, soil, rocks, moss, branches, etc.

About the speaker:

Weina Dinata is a self-taught educator and dedicated native plant advocate integrating her passion, graphic design skill and artistic vision to create an awareness of native plants through her educational botanical studio, Poppy & Finch.
