Tryon Youth Ecologists

The Tryon Youth Ecology program is an interdisciplinary course designed to engage incoming 4th - 6th graders with applied experiences in science, leadership, and culture in the unique Tryon forest.

Due to high demand, limited to first 16 participants.

Registration for the program will resume in 2018.

 

Cost

$185 for members, $225 for non-members

This unique STEM Experience Includes

  • A copy of Ellie’s Log, an engaging blend of science and storytelling, along with an opportunity to work with author – Dr. Judy Li – Professor, Oregon State University
  • A custom Tryon notebook, to utilize for observations and inspiration while exploring the Tryon Creek State Natural Area.
  • Applied experience with data collection, nature journaling, science mapping, ethnobotany and more.
  • And of course, a great opportunity to make life-long friends!

Instructors

This program is instructed by Friends of Tryon Creek staff, with guest lessons from leaders in the art, culture and science world.
