Join us for our Tryon Outreach Ambassador workshop and expand your understanding of Tryon State Natural Area and the Tryon community.
Half a million people visit Tryon Creek State Natural Area every year. Friends of Tryon Creek and Oregon State Parks welcome and engage all visitors, so they have a sense of how unique this urban forest is. To accomplish this goal, we have an Outreach Ambassador program that aims to foster community amongst current volunteers, incorporate new volunteers and share our passion for this place with others. In teams of two, Outreach Ambassadors set up an interactive table display in a high traffic area of the park. Together, they use a combination of interpretation and outreach skills to catch the attention of park visitors and connect them with our shared mission, programming and the natural and cultural history of the park.
All volunteers are invited to join us for our next Outreach Ambassador workshop to broaden our understanding of this unique urban forest and practice being ambassadors of our community. The evening will include an overview of park information, examples of outreach materials and the chance to share and listen to others. Volunteers will be given a chance to sign up for an Ambassador shifts starting Fridays and Saturdays in April.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please use this event link to RSVP.
