Eco Crew - MLK Day of Service - FULL

Special Eco Crew - in partnership with United Way of the Columbia-Willamette and Hands on Greater Portland to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by volunteering with your friends and neighbors over MLK Weekend!

Here at Tryon Creek there is a long tradition of community lead park stewardship. You can join these efforts to maintain and improve the park by volunteering for Eco Crew. Volunteer tasks alternate between trail maintenance and invasive plant removal (like mulching, brush clearing, and pulling ivy.) Activities include a mile hike, working off trail in uneven terrain in all weather conditions. Led by Friends of Tryon Creek and/or Oregon State Parks, instruction, gloves and tools are always provided.

Besides dirty gloves and muddy feet, at the end of each event, it is our hope that Eco Crew volunteers take home a feeling of accomplishment for the work they’ve done and a sense of belonging to a larger community of park stewards.
