Join us for a special Eco Crew in celebration of Orca Recovery Day. Tryon Creek offers coldwater refuge for salmon and steelhead migrating both ways along a Willamette River, out to the Columbia, then the ocean and all the way to the Puget Sound area. Connecting our small urban stream to this iconic Pacific Northwest mammal.
You can join these efforts to maintain and improve the park by volunteering for Eco Crew. Volunteer tasks alternate between trail maintenance and invasive plant removal (like mulching, brush clearing, and pulling ivy.) Activities include a mile hike, working off trail in uneven terrain in all weather conditions. Led by Friends of Tryon Creek and/or Oregon State Parks, instruction, gloves and tools are always provided.
Besides dirty gloves and muddy feet, at the end of each event, it is our hope that Eco Crew volunteers take home a feeling of accomplishment for the work they’ve done and a sense of belonging to a larger community of park stewards.
